Abélia Nordmann is a conductor, singer and project manager in the region of Basel and Bern, Switzerland; her interdisciplinary projects and staged concert programs are always connected to social, ecological and political questions.
// Abélia Nordmann is a french-swiss-german conductor working with choirs and vocal ensembles in Basel and Bern, Switzerland, as well as in neighbouring countries. She's directing the children's choir of the Opera Bern and the seventy voices of contrapunkt chor and is part of the artistic team of vokal:orgel. With TRËI (Nordmann, Şimşek, Miribung), she tours with staged concert programs of vocal folk from different cultures as well as own compositions. Abélia Nordmann's pieces are sung by ensembles of all ages. She initiated the singing activists Fimmene! and used to conduct Ensemble Choeur3, choeur de chambre des trois pays, the young vocal and instrumental ensemble kollektiv novantik, ensemble liberté, and Kinder- und Jugendchor Lörrach. Abélia Nordmann is part of the artistic board of the European Youth Choir Festival Basel and member of the Cultural Council Baselland. Interdisciplinary and intercultural projects, contemporary music and new forms of choral improvisation are an important part of her repertoire; her projects always connect to social, ecological and political questions. Abélia Nordmann's musical and conceptual work has been rewarded with the Förderpreis Musik des Kantons Basel-Landschaft 2016.

Abélia Nordmann ist künstlerische Leiterin verschiedener Chöre und Ensembles in den Regionen Basel und Bern, Schweiz; ihre interdisziplinären Projekte und inszenierten Konzertprogramme begegnen immer auch sozialen und politischen Fragen.
// Abélia Nordmann leitet Chöre, Ensembles und Produktionen in Basel und Bern und in den Nachbarländern der Schweiz. Sie ist Dirigentin des Kinderchors der Bühnen Bern und des contrapunkt chor und Teil der künstlerischen Leitung von vokal:orgel; mit TRËI (Nordmann, Şimşek, Miribung) ist sie im In- und Ausland mit szenischen Konzertprojekten aus vocal folk aus verschiedenen Kulturen und eigenen Kompositionen zu hören. Abélia Nordmann leitete den Kammerchor Ensemble Choeur3, den Kinder- und Jugendchor Lörrach, das ensemble liberté und das kollektiv novantik und initiierte die singenden Frauenrechtlerinnen Fimmene!. Ihre Stücke und Arrangements werden von Kinder- und Erwachsenenchören gesungen. Abélia Nordmann ist Mitglied des Künstlerischen Beirats des Europäischen Jugendchorfestivals Basel und Mitglied des Kulturrats Baselland. Interdisziplinäre Brückenprojekte, Neue Musik und Chorimprovisation bilden einen Schwerpunkt ihres Engagements; Abélia Nordmanns Projekte begegnen dabei immer auch sozialen und politischen Fragen. 2016 erhielt ihre Arbeit den Förderpreis Musik des Kantons Basel-Landschaft.

Abélia Nordmann est membre du Conseil Artistique du European Youth Choir Festival Basel ainsi que du Conseil Culturel de Bâle-Campagne. Son engagement se concentre sur les projets interdisciplinaires et interculturels, la musique contemporaine et l’improvisation vocale et chorale. Les projets d’Abélia Nordmann se posent toujours aussi des questions sociales et politiques. En 2016, son travail musical et conceptionnel a été honoré par le Förderpreis Musik du Canton de Bâle-Campagne.
